Australia!

Well, everyone as of yesterday (Monday) morning at 8:30 ish (Sunday afternoon/Evening in the U.S.) I arrived at Melbourne International airport. Even though I was extremely tired I toughed it out and stayed up the whole day and went to bed by 20:00 and didn't wake up till about 8 this morning. But I did get completely unpacked and moved in yesterday so that helped keep me awake. Then Tamara and Maria went to take me on a walk, but it was so windy and cold we hopped right back in the Blackwood bus (actually a van, but they call it their bus).

It's been fun starting to learn some of the culture/dialect differences and I'm sure it will continue to be pretty hysterical and interesting for the next couple months while I get things figured out. So, at the moment it's winter here, which isn't as cold as it gets back home. BUT, since it's been so warm this summer at home I'm constantly chilled here. The houses aren't heated like in the U.S. so you just have to layer to stay warm. So, as you can imagine I'm cold all the time right now, so I'll be drinking plenty of hot tea for the next while to try and stay warm. But, actually when I was on my run this morning it's really the wind that bothered my body the most, the wind is just so cold.

At the moment I'm listening to small voices singing downstairs. The Mum of the family I'm staying with gives piano lessons and then leads a home school choir and it's filled with little ones. So cute, love their little accents! Right now their singing a cute song about kangaroos.

Here are a couple pictures of where I'm living:

My desk.

The wardrobe that I am sharing with Tamara.
The Tri-layered bunk bed that I'm sharing with Maria and Tamara. I'm  on the middle bunk.
